ROCHESTER, NY - A rematch of last year's Empire 8 Conference Championship was a defensive battle that ended in a 0-0 draw. The Golden Flyers are now 3-3-1 in conference play. 

How It Happened:

• The match began with both team emphasizing defensive as chances were very limited for both sides

• The first half shots ended 5-3 in favor of the Golden Flyers. Out of those shots, just three were on goal for Nazareth and one for Geneseo. 

• The best chance of the game came off the right foot of Shannon Sgombick when her shot just missed the left post. The play started with a great pass from Kiyomi Mastro. 

• The game began to open up during the last 20 minutes with more offense being created both ways

• In the 82nd minute, Nazareth had another great opportunity as Makaelynn Neivel's right footed shot went just over the crossbar to keep the game scoreless

• In the last nine minutes of the game Nazareth had plenty of opportunities to break the 0-0 draw, creating eight shots during that span

• Goalkeepers Delaney Malone and ​​Katriana Walls split the game as each played a half

• Kiyomi Mastro, Shannon, and Brynn Furbeck all had 2 shots on goal
