Geneseo, NY - The Nazareth Men's Hockey Team lost 7-2 at SUNY Geneseo on Saturday night.
Anthony Quinlivan and
Logan Tobias were the two scorers for the Golden Flyers.Â

With the loss, Nazareth's record drops to 6-7-2 overall and 2-6-2 in the conference, while SUNY Geneseo improves to 13-1-1 overall and 9-0-1 in the conference.

The Golden Flyers were off to a slow start in the first period Saturday night but didn't let the two goal deficit discourage them, taking advantage of a power-play to score their first goal of the game.Â

For the goal,
Daisuke Egusa had the puck up by the blue line, he passed the puck across the ice to
Blake Frost who gave the puck right back to Egusa. Egusa took a wrist shot from the point. A. Quinlivan was positioned in front of the net and took care of the rebound at the 12:25 mark.

Nazareth out-shot Geneseo 17-7 in the first period, but Geneseo held the lead at 2-1 heading into the second.

It was a silent second period for the Golden Flyers scoring-wise, while Geneseo was able to rack up a couple more goals to make the score 4-1 heading into the final period of play.

Tobias scored the final goal for Nazareth seven minutes and 38 seconds into the final period off assists from
Liam Quinlivan and
Nate Mann.

Geneseo scored two more goals in the third, one on an empty net, and one on a power play, to set the final score at 7-2 in favor of the Knights.

Lincoln Crosby was in the net or the Golden Flyers, making 30 total saves, 17 of which were in the third period.

The Golden Flyers return to action at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 23rd at Utica University.
