ROCHESTER, NY – The Nazareth women's lacrosse team had a season to remember in 2000, earning a national ranking for the first time and defeating William Smith 13-12 in overtime of the NCAA Division III Championships. The Golden Flyers won 16 games that season, the most-ever in program history.
In the NCAA matchup with William Smith, senior Colleen Fluck took a pass from junior Sue Hollister with 53 seconds left in the second overtime to earn the dramatic victory.
Sophomore Teryn Wineburg notched a season-high 18 saves in the win.
Nazareth fell to Middlebury 16-7 in the NCAA Quarterfinals.
