ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Julia Dietz recorded three points with a goal and two assists and added four draw controls for the Nazareth University Women's Lacrosse team as the Golden Flyers played at the University of Rochester Tuesday afternoon.
The Yellowjackets (9-7) scored five goals in each of the first two quarters to build an early lead and went on to record a 17-5 victory.
Rochester scored in the first 1:30 of the game but Nazareth (6-9) tied the score less than a minute later as junior Makenna Misiurewicz scored with an assist from Dietz to even the score at 1-1.
Rochester scored two more before Dietz scored to trim the lead to 3-2.
The Yellowjackets scored the final two goals of the first quarter and added the first three goals of the second quarter to open an 8-2 lead.
Senior Kate Metzler stopped the Rochester run with the first of her two goals but the home team scored the next five goals through the end of the second and into the third quarter to build a 13-3 lead.
Metzler scored again to cut the lead to nine at 13-4 as the third quarter came to an end.
Senior Liddie Hoare scored to start the fourth quarter but Rochester scored the final four goals of the game for the final margin of victory.
Sophomore Allie Klestinec made 11 saves for her ninth double-digit save game of the season.
Nazareth will close out the regular season Saturday at Hartwick.
