ALBANY, NY – The Nazareth men's lacrosse team extended its win streak to four on Tuesday, rolling to a 22-10 victory over Sage in its first conference game of the season.
Matthew Farrington led the way with a career-high six assists to go along with one goal.
Kyle Rosenberger was good for five goals and one assist, while
Quinn McKercher added three goals and three assists.
After 10 games this season, Nazareth is now 7-3 and 1-0 in Empire 8 play. The Gators drop to 2-7 and 0-1, respectively.
The two teams traded a pair of goals to open the game before the visitors grabbed control of the game with a nine-goal run spanning from 7:32 left in the first quarter to 13:40 remaining in the second.
Rosenberger, who notched all five of his goals in the first half, scored Nazareth's final goal of the second quarter with 5:08 remaining to make it 14-3. The Gators added two more goals to make it 14-4 at the break.
Louis Cogliandro notched two goals and one assist, while
William O'Neill,
Andy Hamel, and
Anthony Menickelli each were credited with two goals apiece.
Brendan Regan,
Sal Ingrassia,
Quinn Conroy,
William Meagher, and
Jack Seibel all had one goal in the contest.
McLean Ralston played three quarters, making six saves and allowing eight goals. Freshman
Zac Isaac saw action in the fourth quarter, making one save in 11:09, while
Colin Perks played 3:51.
Jakob Denkenberger won 18-of-26 faceoffs.
Nazareth returns to NLPA Field on Friday, hosting Utica at 5 p.m. for the Face-off Against Cancer Game.
