Jack Broderick (21 points) led Nazareth to its 10
th-straight win on Friday against Morrisville. It was Senior Night for the Golden Flyers as they honored Blankenberg and
Jordan Haggard, while the five Nazareth dance seniors - Olivia Speranza, Morgan Vandemark, Hannah Bardeen, Chloe Bush, and Katherine Markello -were also honored.
At halftime, the Nazareth athletics department honored Kama Grattet Way, '85. Way was the first national champion in any sport at Nazareth, winning NCAA Division III titles in 1- and 3-meter diving in 1984. Nearly 40 years ago to the day, Way won the 1-meter dive with 409.75 points on March 8, 1984 and added the 3-meter dive title with 418.90 points two days later on March 10.
With the win, Nazareth improves to 17-6 on the season and Morrisville drops to 20-4 overall.
The Golden Flyers took advantage of a slow offensive start from the Mustangs, who connected on just four field goals in the opening ten minutes of the first half to take a 22-8 lead.
This early Nazareth run was supported by four steals on the defensive end, including one by
Ryan Broderick with 11:45 remaining in the first. After connecting on a three-pointer, Broderick applied pressure on the Morrisville inbound pass, coming away with the steal and a layup, ultimately forcing a Morrisville timeout. Broderick finished the game with eight points.
Nazareth continued to dominate in the final ten minutes of the first half on both ends of the court and headed into halftime with a 21-point lead, 51-30.
Jack Broderick was a perfect 7-7 from the floor, and Blankenberg led Nazareth with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the half.
The Golden Flyers maintained a steady lead over the visitors in the second half until a 10-0 Morrisville run brought the visitors within eight points at the 5:45 mark. Nazareth was able to hold on and secure an 89–78 victory.
Blankenberg achieved his fourth double-double of the season with 28 points and 11 rebounds.

Haggard notched eight points and 10 boards.
Nazareth travels to Houghton on Saturday at 4 p.m. for a conference matchup before finishing off their regular season schedule with a game against St. John Fisher next weekend.
