ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Women's hockey took down William Smith on Tuesday night, out-shooting the Herons 35-10.

The Golden Flyers are now 5-2-0 overall, and 3-1-0 in conference play.

In less than two minutes of game play, William Smith scored a goal that just grazed over the glove of
McKinley Hoff to put Nazareth in a fighting position right from the get-go.

Nazareth controlled possession for a solid couple of minutes, and had a few shots that just missed the net, but were unable to convert until the 9:22 mark when
Corsica Skibinski tipped in a long pass from
Brooke Terry. The secondary assist went to
Sami Quackenbush.
Â
For the rest of the period, the Golden Flyers only gave up two more shots, both of which were saved by Hoff, and the period ended at a 1-1 tie.

Less than three minutes into the second period,
Meredith Boettcher found a gap in the net from assists by
Ave Meteyer and
Ella Cedrone to put the Golden Flyers up 2-1. The score remained 2-1 for the rest of the period

Despite a few shots that just glanced the net from both teams, neither team was able to generate goals in the third period. With just over one minute of play remaining, William Smith pulled its goalie to try to create more offensive opportunities, but Nazareth's stellar defense held the Herons scoreless.

Julia Holmes had two blocks in the game, while
Kate Cascio,
Sydney Gurlea, and
Amy Laskowski each added one.

Hoff closed the game with nine saves.

The Golden Flyers will get back on the ice on December 6
th at 7:30 pm on the road at Trinity College.
