HOUGHTON, NY – The Nazareth men's cross country team all delivered either their best races of the year or personal bests en route to a fourth place finish for the Empire 8 Championships hosted at Houghton University on Saturday.
Nationally-ranked Geneseo won with 20 points, followed by Brockport (50), Houghton (103), Nazareth (104), Utica (136), St. John Fisher (153), Alfred (212), Hartwick (275), Suny Poly (278), and Keuka (414).
Seniors
Cade Eells (25:16.5) and
Ethan Kenyon (26:06.2) each ran their best races of the year to take 15
thand 33
rd place. Eells moved up from 19
th place at the 5k mark to finish 15
th to earn second team all-conference.
Junior
Connor Jackson had a PR of eight seconds at 26:19.0 to finish 48
th. Also, with a PR was
Joe Britschge who clocked a 26:30.8 which was a best by 1:12 and good for 48
th place.
Nazareth's final finisher was junior
Antonio Benitez (26:32.1) in 50
th place.
Nazareth's next five runners all had PRs in
Cameron Almy (26:33.5), Brenna Farr (27:23.9),
Joseph Cataldo (27:34.0),
Thuan Nguyen (29:50.6) and
Yousef Mahmoud (30:45.6).
Next up for Nazareth will be the NCAA Niagara Regional on November 16 hosted by Fredonia State.
