Nazareth College Athletics

Son of Michelle Eells, Ithaca, N.Y... retuning for his third season with the team after an outstanding junior year … named the Empire 8 co-Runner of the Year and an All-Region selection … earned First Team All-Empire 8 honors and was named the Nazareth Male Junior of the Year … named the Empire 8 Runner of the Week twice and picked up academic honors with selection to the Empire 8 President’s List in the Fall and Spring semester as well as the USTFCCCA All-Academic team … placed second overall at the Empire 8 Championships and was 17^th at the Niagara Regional Championship race … had his career-best 8K time with a 24:53.6 at the Mike Woods Invitational at Geneseo which second on the all-time Nazareth top-15 list

2022: returning for his second cross country season, Eells was among the team's top runners in 2021 as the Golden Flyers captured their second straight Empire 8 Conference title... earned E8 Rookie of the Year honors and first-team all-conference after finishing seventh at the E8 Conference meet (26:13.5 for 8 kilometers) at Washington County Fairgrounds... also finished 46th at the NCAA Niagara Regional race at Geneseo with an 8k time of 26:44.5... competed for the Golden Flyers' track and field teams in 2022 and won the E8 title in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:41.52) at Nazareth on 5/6/22... placed eighth in the same event at the All-Atlantic Regional meet at Moravian with a personal-best time of 9:29.69 on 5/18/22... also ran fifth in the 3,000-meter run at the E8 meet with a personal-best time of 9:07.63... represented the Golden Flyers on the E8 Presidents' List for student-athletes with GPAs of 3.75 or higher.

Scholastic: a graduate of Ithaca High School, Eells competed there in basketball, cross country and track... competed in four seasons of cross country and helped team capture the Section Four Class A title in 2019 with a seventh-place individual finish... recipient of Rich Bernstein Award for track and field in 2021 for willingness to compete in any event... also won Harold Porter Award for cross country that exemplifies work ethic, desire and team-first attitude... also won Fastest Freshman Award for cross country in 2017.
