Tobias Nets 2 as Men's Hockey Drops Chatham 3-1

ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Logan Tobias netted a pair of goals to help Nazareth earn a 3-1 win over Chatham on Saturday, the Golden Flyers first UCHC win of the season.
 
Nazareth is now 2-2-1 overall and 1-2-1 in UCHC play, while the Cougars drop to 0-3-1 overall.
 
Nazareth got on the board 3:08 into the game as Tobias netted his first of the season. Jeremy Swartz fired a puck in tight and Tobias jammed in the rebound.
 
At 17:33 of the second, Tyler Samoadral netted the game-tying goal.
 
It wasn't until late in the second period that the Golden Flyers received their first power play which carried over into the third. It was in the third that Nazareth made good on the extra-man opportunity with Blake Frost getting his first of the season from Joey Schaefer.
 
Tobias cashed in on a power play at the 6:04 mark of the third off an assist from Cole Bauman and Frost.
 
The special teams for Nazareth was strong all night, holding the Cougars to 0-4 on the power play, while Nazareth was 2-for-3.
 
Dylan Wiemer made 18 saves between the pipes to earn the win.
 
Nazareth will travel to Manhattanville next Friday and Saturday for a pair of UCHC contests.
