ROCHESTER, NY – Undefeated Brockport brought its "A game" on Wednesday, blanking Nazareth by a 5-0 score in the squads first matchup as Empire 8 foes.
Nazareth falls to 5-4-2 overall and 2-1-2 in Empire 8 play, while the Golden Eagles move to 10-0-1, and 6-0 in conference play.
The Golden Eagles proved to be a difficult task and continued their streak this season of not surrendering a goal. They have 37 goals scored and none scored against.
Brockport got dangerous several occasions with its speed down the endline and made good on three of those opportunities in the opening 45 minutes. On all three goals in the first half, Brockport got to the endline and sent a cross in for a tap-in goal in the 18
th, 29
th and 40 minutes.
It was 3-0 at the half.
The green and yellow added another goal in the 48
th minute to make it 4-0.
Kiyomi Mastro had Nazareth's best opportunity of the game ripped a left footed shot just wide of the post in the 63
rd minute.
A deflected shot in front gave Brockport a 5-0 lead in the 68
th minute.
Annika Monfort played the first half, surrendering three goals and making two saves.
Teagan Anna played the final 45 minutes, allowing two goals and making two saves.
Nazareth returns to action on Saturday, hosting Sage for its Flyer Fanatic Game at 1 p.m. The theme for the day is "Beach Day."
