Top 100 Moment: 1986-87- Men's basketball defeats Stony Brook to reach NCAA East Region final; team won 45 games over 2 seasons

ROCHESTER, NY - The Nazareth men's basketball team defeated Stony Brook on March 6, 1987 to advance to the NCAA East Region final, eventually falling to Potsdam. Nazareth finished the year 22-6, marking 45 wins over a two-season span, with back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.

Joe Convertino led the way with 19 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the win over Stony Brooke. Richard Sparks chipped in 18 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks.
