ROCHESTER,NY-  The Golden Flyers suffered a non-conference defeat against  the University Rochester Yellowjackets on Wednesday night, falling 2-1. Ryan Fitzgerald scored the lone goal of the game for Nazareth.
 
Nazareth is now 5-3-2 on the season.
 
In the 29th minute of the game, Michael Yates had a phenomenal volley on goal, just missing wide of the post. 
 
The Golden Flyers were outshot 6-3 in the first half. 
 
The Yellowjackets controlled most of the possession in the first half, but Nazareth's stellar defense did not allow them to generate and score  on any of the shots taken. 
 
The first half without either team finding the net. 
 
10 minutes into the second half, the Yellowjackets scored off a corner, leading to a 1-0 edge. 
 
Goalie Liam Brant made a remarkable save in the 22nd minute of the game.
 
Nazareth was able to equalize in the 75^th minute when Fitzgerald scored off a corner kick assisted by Spencer Neil and Jake Pawlika. 
 
In the 83rd minute, the Yellowjackets with another corner created an opportunity and placed the ball in the back of the net for the game-winning goal. 
 
Liam Brant had a total of 6 saves. 
 
The Golden Flyers will travel to Houghton Saturday for a 3 p.m. match against Houghton.
