Overton Scores Twice as Women's Soccer Rolls Past Keuka, 6-0

ROCHESTER, NY – That Nazareth women's soccer team exploded for six goals on Saturday, defeating Keuka College 6-0 at Golden Flyer Stadium. Sophomore Tatum Overton scored two goals and added an assist in the victory. The freshman duo of Brynn Furbeck and Kiyomi Mastro each scored their first career goals to help Nazareth get back to .500 on the season.

The Golden Flyers are now 3-3-2 on the year and 2-0-1 in conference play, while Keuka drops to 1-7-1 and 1-2-0.

Nazareth split up its scoring with three goals in each half, beginning with Furbeck netting her first in the Purple and Gold  nearly 13 minutes into the game. Overton ripped a shot from outside the 18-yard box that was pushed aside by the Wolves keeper, only for Furbeck to clean up on the backside.

Overton netted her first of the game near the midway of the first, beautifully striking a right-footed shot over the keeper to the far post from 22-yards out to make it 2-0.

Nazareth's last goal of the half came in the 44th minute with junior Margaret Partlow netting her first of the season. She put home a goal off a rebound from a shot by Alexandra Skoda.

In the second half, the Golden Flyers were awarded two penalty kicks, each of which they converted. Grace Palczewski scored the first penalty in the 50th minute, while Mastro converted her opportunity with just :33 seconds remaining.

The other goal of the game came from Overton on a great individual effort in the 59th minute. After having two shots saved consecutively by the keeper, Overon collected the second rebound and eventually found the corner of the net. She leads Nazareth with five goals and one assist on the season. She is the only Golden Flyer with more than one goal.

Nazareth came into the game having scored six goals all season.

Annika Monfort made six saves in just over 63 minutes of play, while sophomore Delaney Malone notched her first time of the season, making two saves.

Nazareth returns to action on Tuesday, hosting RIT at 4 pm.
