ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Tessa Grover nearly posted her fourth triple-double of the season as she led the Nazareth University Wimen's Volleyball team with 14 kills, 16 assists and eight digs but the Golden Flyers dropped a 3-1 decision to the Bengals in non-conference play Wednesday night in Kidera Gym.
Buffalo State (7-6) won the first two sets 25-18 and 25-19 before Nazareth (1-9) rallied for a 25-22 win in the third set. The Bengals opened up a close score midway through the set with a 25-15 win to close out the match.
Grover was the Nazareth leader in kills with her 14 and combined with fellow junior Ella Kules for 37 assists. Sophomore Jenna Mattison tied her career high with a team-leading 19 digs while sophomore Leah Fusilli finished with 11 digs. Grover added eight digs and four aces for Nazareth.
Nazareth travels to Morrisville Saturday for a tri-match with the Mustangs and SUNY Plattsburgh before Empire 8 play begins the following Friday at Elmira.
