Satter Makes a Career-High 24 Saves in Home Loss to William Smith

ROCHESTER, NY – Sophomore Madilyn Satter stopped 24 shots, including 14 in the second half for the Nazareth University Field Hockey team as the Golden Flyers dropped a 3-0 decision to William Smith Wednesday afternoon on the turf field.

After a scoreless first quarter, William Smith (4-2) opened the scoring with less than six minutes remaining in the second period. It was the lone goal of the first half as the Herons took a slim 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

William Smith scored late in the third quarter and then added to the lead 3:36 into the final period for the 3-0 lead.

Satter stopped 10 shots in the first half and made another seven saves in each of the final two quarters. Freshman Bella Raymond added a defensive save as William Smith was awarded 12 penalty corners including 11 in the second half.

Nazareth will face future Empire 8 opponent Geneseo next Wednesday on the road and opens Empire 8 play two days later at Keuka.
