18 Different Scorers Find the Net As Men's Lax Downs Sage, 28-4

ROCHESTER, NY – 18 different goals scorers found the back of the net for Nazareth on Saturday, including senior Greg Bilek (4 G, 2A) and Quinn McKercher (3G, 3A) each tallying six points in a 28-4 throttling of Sage at Golden Flyer Stadium.
 
Nazareth moves to 8-7 overall with the win and 4-1 in Empire 8 play, while Sage drops to 5-10 overall and 1-4, respectively.
 
The most damage came for the Golden Flyers in the first, as they jumped out to a 10-2 lead, aided by going 12-for-13 at the faceoff circle. For the game, Nazareth won 27-of-35 faceoffs.
 
First time goal scorers in the game were Reece Wieder and Joey Hathorn. In total, eight different players recorded one point on the day by scoring a goal, including Braeden McKercher, Luke Suchyna, Liam Miller, Quinn Conroy, Brendan Regan, and William O'Neill.
 
The score was 17-3 at the half and the Gators only scored one more goal the rest of the game.
 
Jack McOsker had a solid day all around with two goals and three assists, to go along with three ground balls.
 
Matthew Farrington, Michael Bergan, Owen Riley all finished with one goal and an assist, while Max Popolizio, Kyle Rosenberger added a goal and two assists.
 
Andy Hamel had a career-high three goals and Sal Ingrassia notched two goals to his name.
 
Suchyna and Jakob Denkenberger were each 10-for-12 from the faceoff x.
 
Eric Almquist picked up the win with two saves in 21:47 of action. McLean Ralston logged the most minutes in the game (23:13), making five saves and allowing no goals. Carson Pickeral played just over seven minutes and made two saves, while Colin Perks logged nearly eight minutes, allowing one goal and making one save.
 
Nazareth returns to action on Friday, hosting Hartwick for Senior Day at 7 p.m. at NLPA Field.
