BUFFALO, NY – Junior
Quinn McKercher added a pair of goals, pushing him to 101 for his career, as Nazareth cruised to a 30-0 victory over Medaille University on Wednesday. In addition, junior
Sal Ingrassia netted a career-high five goals and added an assist in the win. The 30 goals scored also ties a Nazareth record for goals in a game.
Nazareth moves back to .500 at 7-7 and is now 3-1 in conference play, while Medaille drops to 1-4 and 0-3, respectively.
McKercher becomes one of the fastest players in Golden Flyer history to record 100-career goals, doing so in the 14
th game of his junior season. Other Nazareth standouts to get 100-career goals by their junior year were Luke Wooters '16 in his fifth game, Troy Haefele '16 in his eighth game, Marty Kelly '92, and Ryan Hotaling '07 in his 14
th game.
McKercher also added a career-high six assists in the win. He leads Nazareth with 50 points this season behind 31 goals and 19 assists.
Nazareth led 23-0 at the half.
Braeden McKercher finished with four goals in his first action since last playing against Bowdoin on March 15 after suffering an injury. He now has 18 goals on the year.
Jake Schroll and
William O'Neill compiled three goals apiece, each marking career-highs.
Andy Hamel added two goals and an assist, while senior
Liam Miller scored twice.
Max Popolizio notched six points on one goal and five assists.
Kyle Rosenberger chipped in one goal and two assists.
Owen Riley,
Michael Bergan, and
Brendan Regan each added one goal and one assist.
Chase Dunn,
Max Siegel and
Luke Suchyna all had a goal while
William Meagher compiled three assists.
The Golden Flyers won 19-of-32 faceoffs, including Regan going 9-for-14.
Nazareth returns to action on Saturday, hosting Sage at 3 p.m.
