ROCHESTER, NY – Sophomore Jack Broderick scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half and senior Logan Blankenberg and Jordan Haggard each added 11 points in the opening half as the Nazareth Men's Basketball team raced to a 50-19 halftime lead and cruised to a 96-55 win over Houghton Friday night in an Empire 8 game at Kidera Gym.
Blankenberg added 10 more points in the second half and Haggard finished with 19 points as each connected on five 3-pointers in the game to pace the Golden Flyers (16-4 overall, 10-3 Empire 8).
The hot-shooting duo combined with freshman Jaylen Savage (13 points) and graduate student Jonathan Park (10 points) as five players including four starters scored in double-digits.
Park, who was honored prior to the start of the game for becoming the 29th Nazareth player to eclipse the 1,000-point milestone, added 12 rebounds for his 12th double-double of the season. Fellow graduate student Zach Stenglein handed out a team-leading 10 assists.
The Golden Flyers will face Medaille at 4 p.m. Saturday to complete the Empire 8 weekend of games at Kidera Gym.
