ROCHESTER, NY – Visiting Geneseo scored four-straight goals in the fourth quarter and went on to win 13-11 Saturday on a snowy afternoon to defeat Nazareth at NLPA field.
It was the Knights first game of the season as they move to 1-0 on the season, while the Golden Flyers drop to 1-1.
Braeden McKercher paced the Nazareth offense with four goals game, including three-straight to give Nazareth a 10-9 lead with 9:25 to play in the fourth.
That, however, led to the Knights erupting for the next four goals, including two from Christian Marcello, Jr., giving the visitors a 13-10 lead. He had a game-high five goals.
Nazareth scored the first two goals of the game, one from
Louis Cogliandro, before he dished out a goal to
Jack McOsker. Cogliandro added three goals and an assist in the game, while McCosker was credited with two.
Matthew Farrington added a pair of goals and also had two assists. The score was 6-6 at the half.
Eric Almquist made a season-high 16 saves in the losing effort. Jacob Denkenberger was 12-for-25 at the faceoff circle.
