Dobrovosky Leads Nazareth Past Russell Sage with 20 points

ALBANY, NY – Graduate student Olivia Dobrovosky scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Nazareth University Women's Basketball team as the Golden Flyers opened the Empire 8 schedule with a 54-40 win over Russell Sage Friday night in Robison Court in the Kahl Campus Center.

Dobrovosky scored 12 of her 20 points in the second half and opened the fourth quarter with a basket that sparked a 7-0 run to open the final period as Nazareth (4-1 overall, 1-0 E8) took a commanding lead.

The Golden Flyers scored 14 points in the third quarter with six coming from Dobrovosky to build a 10-point lead at 43-33 before netting the first seven points of the fourth to push the lead to 17.

Sophomore Kiara Anglin added a pair of baskets in the fourth quarter run and Dobrovosky finished the game with a pair of free throws and a short jumper to cap the scoring.

The graduate student transfer from SUNY Oneonta was 7-for-10 from the field and 6-for-8 from the free throw line and finished with three steals to pace Nazareth. Anglin finished with eight points while fellow sophomore Kaite MacLachlan added six points, seven rebounds and four assists. Freshman Sarina McDowell chipped in four points and nine rebounds.

The Golden Flyers complete the opening Empire 8 weekend with a 2 p.m. game at Hartwick Saturday.
