ROCHESTER, NY – The freshman duo of
Nikki Sharp and
Alexis Kindred each scored their first career goals in Nazareth's 4-0 defeat of King's (PA) on Friday night at Tim Horton's Iceplex. Sophomore
Alexis Jones tallied her first goal of the year, while
Allie Zack capped off the scoring.
Nazareth moves to 3-1 overall with the win and 3-0 in UCHC play, while King's drops to 1-4 and 0-3, respectively.
Just past the midway point of the first, freshman Sharp lit the lamp for her first career goal. Sharp picked off a pass right inside the blue line and wristed a shot in for the goal.
The Golden Flyers tacked on another goal in the second to take a 2-0 lead into the final intermission. Jones scored her first of the year from
Audrey Donahue and
Sydney Swanson.
In the third period, Kindred took a pass from Sharp and ripped it home seven minutes into the period.
The final goal came with less than seven minutes remaining from
Allie Zack.
Nazareth outshot the Monarchs 59-6 for the game with Maika Paquin stopping all six shots.
Nazareth returns to the ice on Saturday for a rematch with King's at 2 p.m.
