ELMIRA, NY – The Nazareth University women's soccer team dominated play on Saturday as juniors
Haley Glassman and
Grace Palczewski combined for a goal each to help the visitors earn a 2-0 Empire 8 conference win over the Elmira College Soaring Eagles.
Nazareth (4-3-4 overall, 3-0-1 E8) add another conference tally to its win column with a third shutout on the season for junior
Annika Monfort, as strong team defense from the Golden Flyers kept the ball out of their box.
The first goal came late in the first half after senior
Grace Lanzetta kept the ball in play and Glassman capitalized on the opportunity for a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Throughout the second half, Naz continued to control the game play and had multiple opportunities to further the lead, one of which Palczewski finished off for her third career goal.
Nazareth finished with 24 shots and nine corners to Elmira's one shot and one corner.
The Golden Flyers return home for their next game on Wednesday October 11 as they face off against St. John Fisher for the women's soccer Flyer Fanatic Game at Golden Flyer Stadium.
