Nazareth (1-13 overall, 1-5 Empire 8) scored late in the first half to knot the game at 1-1 as freshman Sam Helmer took a pass from Mieczkowski on a penalty corner and sent a shot between the legs of the St. John Fisher goalie and the teams went into the break tied.

Five minutes into the final quarter, the Cardinals converted another penalty corner to take a 3-1 lead, but just over a minute later Mieczkowski took a through pass and broke in on the goal and beat the Cardinal goalie with a low shot to the corner of the cage to trim the lead.
Two minutes later, Dimao scored to tie the game at 3-3 with just five minutes remaining in the contest.
St. John Fisher responded with offensive pressure including a long run up the field and another penalty corner goal to take the 5-3 win.
