Four Score In Double Figures as Women's Hoops Defeats Alfred, 72-59

ALFRED, NY – Visiting Nazareth built a 10-point halftime lead and went on to defeat the Alfred University 72-59 on Friday night in Empire 8 conference action. Graduate student Kim Davis led the way with 16 points (7-for-12), while Jadyn Abrams, Katie MacLachlan and Brielle Reidinger each scored in double figures.
 
Nazareth improves to 12-5 overall and 8-2 in league play with the win, while the Saxons drop to 10-7 and 5-6 in league play.
 
The Golden Flyers were in control most of the game, building their largest lead of the first half at the 2:19 mark of the second quarter when a Kiara Anglin layup made it 29-18. She finished with seven points and seven boards. It was 35-25 at the half.
 
Nazareth came into the fourth quarter with a nine-point lead and was able to generate its largest lead of the game at 61-43 midway through behind two free throws from MacLachlan. She finished the game with 14 points, including 3-for-4 from 3-point land. She also had four rebounds and two steals.
 
The closest Alfred would come down the stretch would be 13 points to close out the game.
 
Abrams notched 15 points and five rebounds in the winning effort. Reidinger was the other scorer in double figures with 10 points and 10 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season.

 Nazareth returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Elmira for a 2 p.m. contest.
