ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Logan Blankenberg led the #25 Nazareth Men's Basketball team with 20 points and graduate student Jonathan Park added a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds as the Golden Flyers scored a 99-80 win over Sage Friday night at Kidera Gym.
Nazareth (12-2 overall, 6-1 E8), ranked #25 in the latest d3hoops.com national poll, battled to a 10-point lead at 39-29 in the first half. Park nearly had a double-double in the first half with eight points and 10 rebounds.
Blankenberg scored 12 of his 20 points in the second half and led five Golden Flyers, including Park, into double-digit scoring. Senior Jordan Haggard finished with 17 points, graduate student Zach Stenglein added 13, sophomore Luke Insley chipped in 11 and freshman Jayden Savage had 12 for Nazareth.
The Golden Flyers hit nearly half their shots with a final shooting percentage of 46.8 (36-for-77) and had eight 3-pointers including three each from Haggard and Blankenberg.
Park's 13 rebounds were a game-high and Stenglein added seven rebounds four assists and three steals.
Nazareth will complete the Empire 8 weekend with a 4 p.m. game against Hartwick Saturday.
