BETHLEHEM, PA – Senior Emily Weaver was one of the four Nazareth scoring runners to finish with a personal best time as the Golden Flyers finished in a tie for 9th place overall in the Paul Short Invitational race hosted by Lehigh University.
Weaver took ninth overall with a time of 22:31.4 which was a personal best by more than a minute to lead the Nazareth runners. Junior Lilianna Hanning finished in 43rd position with a personal best of 23:25.3.
Nazareth had 308 points which tied Susquehanna University for ninth place in the team competition. Widener (84 points) won the collegiate race followed by Kutztown (128), St. Anslem (210), Clarion (212), Sonoma St. (218 including the top individual finisher), Gettysburg (234), TCNJ (240) and Concord (298). Susquehanna and Nazareth each had 308 points and Southern Connecticut St. was next with 310.
The race featured 42 teams and nearly 350 runners.
Freshman Ella Impaglia was the third Nazareth finisher as she clocked a PR of 23:58.9 and senior Megan Morin was next in 87th place with a time of 24:05.9. Junior Paige Ackley rounded out the Nazareth scoring with a 92nd place finish as she ran a PR time of 24:10.5.
Additional finishers for the Golden Flyers included senior Alexis Anagnostopulos with a PR time of 24:23.6 and sophomore Peyton Tripp with a 24:31.3.
In the open women's race, junior Leigha Gould ran a 25:33.3 and senior Giselle Rainville finished with a time of 26:52.7.
Nazareth is off until October 15 for the Inter-Regional Rumble event at Oberlin, Ohio.
