ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Kaylee Kelly had a game-high 12 kills and sophomore Tessa Grover handed out 22 assists for the Nazareth Women's Volleyball team but the Golden Flyers dropped a 3-1 decision Wednesday in a non-conference match with Oswego.

Oswego (12-6) won the opening set 25-13 but Nazareth (4-10) rebounded to even the match at 1-1 with a 25-19 win in the second set. The Lakers rallied to win the final two sets 25-14 and 25-16 to wrap up the match.

In the first set, the score was tied at 6-6 before Oswego scored seven of nine points to take a 13-8 lead and then rallied for an 11-1 run to take a commanding lead. Kelly recorded a pair of kills down the stretch but it was not enough as the Lakers won 25-14.

In the second set, Nazareth jumped out to an early lead at 10-5 and put together a run of 6-1 to pull away.

Oswego had early runs in both the third and fourth sets to put the match away.

Nazareth returns to Empire 8 play Friday against Hartwick and then faces Russell Sage and non-conference foe Ithaca in Saturday matches.
