Nazareth Stumbles in Road Loss to Hartwick

ONEONTA, NY – The Nazareth Field Hockey team limited Hartwick to just 12 shots Saturday but the Hawks scored six times and finished with a 6-0 win in an Empire 8 game.

The Golden Flyers (1-7 overall, 1-1 Empire 8) limited the offensive chances for Hartwick (3-4, 2-0 Empire 8) but the Hawks scoredtwice in the first quarter and added a second quarter goal for a 3-0 halftime lead. Hartwick added three goals in the final quarter for the final score.

Freshman Mackenzie Halliday recorded six saves for Nazareth and the Golden Flyers managed just four shots in the contest. Sophomore Hannah Janes had two of the three shots on goal for Nazareth.

The Golden Flyers continue Empire 8 play on the Artificial Turf Field at 7 p.m. Wednesday as Nazareth hosts St. John Fisher.
