ROCHESTER, NY – Junior Lilianna Hanning and senior Emily Weaver led the Nazareth Women's Cross Country team to a 10th place finish at the NCAA Division III Niagara Region Championship race Saturday at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester.
Nazareth was 10th in the team standings with 271 points. Geneseo won the team scoring with 18 points followed by NYU (79 points), Ithaca (155), Rochester (162), Hamilton (166), Brockport (196), St. John Fisher (220), Cortland (228), RIT (266) and Nazareth. Additional Empire 8 teams included Houghton (362) in 13th, Utica (483) in 16th, Alfred (486) in 17th and Hartwick (618) in 21st position out of 24 teams.
Hanning ran a 23:29.4 to take 21st place and Weaver clocked a 24:18.1 to take 42nd place. Freshman
Ella Impaglia was next for Nazareth in 57th position with a time of 24:51.8, senior
Megan Morin was 72nd with a time of 25:20.1 and senior
Alexis Anagnostopulos was 79th with her time of 25:34.4. Sophomore
Peyton Tripp crossed the line in 85th position with a 25:56.7 for Nazareth.
