ROCHESTER, NY – Senior Nathan Bowers led five runners the finished in the top 60 as the Nazareth Men's Cross Country team took 8th place overall at the NCAA Division III Niagara Regional Championship race Saturday at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester.
Nazareth scored 221 to finish in 8th place while Geneseo won the team competition with a score of 41. Brockport (77 points) was second followed by NYU (114), Rochester (149), Hamilton (152), RIT (159), Cortland (214) and Nazareth. The Golden Flyers were the top Empire 8 team in the finish while St. John Fisher (348) was 13th, Utica (449) was 15th, Houghton (458) was 17th, and Alfred (661) was 22nd in the 22-team field.
Bowers ran a 26:19.0 to place 24th overall while sophomore Cade Eells was next in 39th position with a time of 26:41.8, senior Nathan McNally was 48th in 26:56.3, freshman Joey Everts was 53rd in 27:02.4 and junior Matt Reimann rounded out the scoring in 57th position and a time of 27:07.7.
Other finishers for Nazareth included sophomore Ethan Kenyon (27:14.2) in 60th and freshman Antonio Benitez (27:22.7) in 64th place.
