ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Visiting St. John Fisher scored twice in each half Sunday against Nazareth in field hockey as the Cardinals secured the top seed for the upcoming Empire 8 Conference Tournament with a 4-0 victory.
Fisher remained unbeaten at 4-0 both in conference play and overall. Nazareth is 1-3 and 1-3 and will be the fifth seed for this week's E8 Tournament. The Golden Flyers will play at Utica Wednesday.
The Cardinals dominated the game statistically with a 28-6 advantage in shots and were backed by three goals by Bre Socker and one from Gianna Palma.
Sophomore
Bailey Selman had four of Nazareth's six shots and forced Fisher goalie Sophia Trozzi to make five saves.
Amanda Chuttey made 18 saves for the Golden Flyers before giving way to
Jessica Holtz for the last few minutes.
The pre-game featured a ceremony in which the Golden Flyers recognized their five seniors who were competing in their final home game --
