FREDONIA, NY – Senior Jadyn Abrams scored 23 points including 10 in the third quarter and graduate student Sabrina Wolfe nailed a short jumper with 10 seconds left to give the Nazareth College Women's Basketball team to a 51-50 victory over SUNY Fredonia Wednesday night.

Both teams struggled early but senior Caley Cornwell hit a pair of  baskets in the second quarter including 3-pointer in the closing seconds of the period to give Nazareth (4-4) a 22-18 lead at the break.

Abrams connected on five 3-pointers in the game for the second straight game and hit two of the long range jumpers in the third quarter and finished the period with 10 points but Fredonia (6-4) came back with 24 points in the quarter to take a 42-40 lead heading into the final period.

Neither team scored in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter before Abrams hit a pair of free throws to tie the game at 42-42 with 6:47 left to play. The teams traded free throws before Abrams hit a layup and then a 3-pointer to give the Golden Flyers a lead.

A layup with three minutes left allowed Fredonia to regain the lead 50-49. The teams combined to miss the next seven shots and Cornwell stole an inbounds pass with 37 seconds left to give Nazareth possession.

After a time out by the Golden Flyers, senior Miyah Sizer made a nice pass inside to Wolfe who drove for the layup as Nazareth took the 51-50 lead with 14 seconds left.

Fredonia missed a late shot and Cornwell and Wolfe combined for the steal on the final inbounds pass to seal the victory for Nazareth.

Abrams finished with a team-leading 23 points, Wolfe added 10 points and Cornwell chipped in nine points. Senior Kim Davis led the way with 12 rebounds and Sizer handed out seven assists and had seven steals.
