FAIRPORT, N.Y. – Nazareth gained its second straight women's hockey victory over visiting Neumann Friday as the Golden Flyers improved to 10-0 overall with a 3-1 win over the Knights in a game played at the Rochester Ice Center.
Friday's game was more competitive than Thursday's, when the Golden Flyers won 11-0. Nazareth's record includes an 8-0 mark in United Collegiate Hockey Conference play. Neumann dropped to 1-10-1 overall and 1-6-1 in the UCHC.
For the second night in a row, Nazareth had a lopsided advantage in shots on goal 57-8, but Neumann goaltender Michelle Winand-Bacon made 54 saves to keep the Knights in the game.
Nazareth scored once in each period and carried a 2-0 late into the second period, before Neumann scored as Nazareth yielded just its third goal of the season.

Hailey Redders scored her eighth goal of the season at 6:54 of the opening period as she redirected a pass from Eli Fallieras. In the second period, freshman
Ivey Lyden scored her second career goal on a shot from the blue line with
Cristina Darby gaining the assist.
Neumann kept playing hard and rewarded for the effort with its first goal of the weekend at 17:25 of the second as Katelyn Brown stole the puck from a Nazareth defender and sent a pass to Georgi Rowland, who finished the play for her fourth goal of the season.
The score went unchanged until 15:49 of the third period as sophomore defender
Julia Holmes scored for the second time this season after receiving a pass from
Madison Nichols, who gained her team-leading 12th assist.
Noelle Giroux started for Nazareth in goal and was credited with seven saves for the victory.
Neither team was able to capitalize on the power play. Nazareth was scoreless in four chances, Neumann three.
Nazareth is home next weekend for a pair of non-league games. The Golden Flyers host Hamilton Friday at 6 p.m. and Amherst Saturday at 3 p.m. Both games are at the Bill Gray's Iceplex.
