ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Nazareth won its second women's basketball game of the season Wednesday as the Golden Flyers dominated visiting Cazenovia from start to finish in a 68-27 non-conference win at the Kidera Gymnasium.
Nazareth was able to snap a four-game losing streak to improve its overall record to 2-4. Cazenovia dropped to 1-7 with the non-conference defeat.
Kim Davis finished with a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Jadyn Abrams scored 11 points and
Sabrina Wolfe scored 10.
Nazareth scored the first nine points of the game and never trailed. The Golden Flyers were up 17-7 after one quarter and 34-15 at halftime. Wolfe scored all 10 of her points in the first half and Davis added eight. Freshman
Madilann Johnson came off the bench to knock down a pair of three-point shots for six points.
Nazareth's lead ballooned to 59-25 after three quarters as Abrams nailed a pair of three-point shots and
Miyah Sizer hit another as the Golden Flyers extended their lead.
Caley Cornwell contributed nine points and five rebounds and
Makalah Sizer had nine rebounds.
Nazareth limited the Wildcats to only 13 field goals in 54 attempts (24.1 percent) with no three-pointers. Nazareth went 25-for-70 from the field (35.7 percent) with six three-pointers. Nazareth also had a 55-37 rebounding advantage.
The Golden Flyers travel to John Jay Sunday in New York City for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
