PITTSBURGH -- Senior
Keeley Rose scored once and added two assists Friday as visiting Nazareth registered its third straight women's hockey victory of the season with a 6-0 triumph over Chatham.
The Golden Flyers improved to 3-0 overall with their first league win in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference. Nazareth has outscored its three opponents 22-1. Nazareth and Chatham square off again Saturday at 2 p.m.
On Friday, the Golden Flyers scored twice in each period and senior goaltender
Adrianna Brehm amassed 20 saves for her 14th career shutout.
Rose and freshman
Ivey Lyden had first-period assists on Nazareth's first goal, scored by
Elie Fallieras at 17:54. Nazareth's second goal came short-handed with just 15 seconds left in the opening period after
Kyla Thompson was whistled for tripping.
Nikolle Van Stralen scored unassisted for her second goal of the season and 2-0 advantage.
Thompson and
Ally Watrous tallied second-period goals as the Golden Flyers extended their lead. Rose had her second assist on Watrous' goal and Van Stralen and
Makenna Wiljanen had assists on Thompson's goal.
Gabriella DeMeo and Rose added third-period goals as Nazareth put the finishing touches on the victory.
Nazareth finished with a 31-20 edge in shots on goal.
