Nazareth blanks Lebanon Valley, 4-0, for another weekend sweep

Golden Flyers (8-0-0 overall) host Neumann Dec. 2

HERSHEY, Pa. -- Nazareth's women's hockey team put forth another dominant effort Saturday as the Golden Flyers completed a weekend sweep of host Lebanon Valley with a 4-0 victory over the Dutchmen.

The Golden Flyers, utilizing a 45-4 advantage in shots on goal, improved to 8-0-0 overall and 6-0-0 in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference. LVC is 2-6-0 and 1-5-0. Nazareth also defeated LVC 5-1 on Friday and has now outscored the opposition 52-2 in its eight games.

Hailey Redders, Keeley Rose, Maria Di Cresce and Elie Fallieras scored goals for the Golden Flyers, who are back home Dec. 2 and 3 to host Neumann.

The Golden Flyers did a good job killing penalties, including a 5-on-3 opportunity the Dutchmen had in the first period. Fallieras took a five-minute major penalty for boarding and Madison Nichols took a two-minute minor for holding, but the Dutchmen were unable to generate any shots on Nazareth goaltender Adrianna Brehm, who finished with four routine saves for her 16th career shutout.

Redders delivered her team-leading seventh goal at 18:10 of the opening period to break a scoreless tie. She wristed in a shot from the slot off a pass from Nichols, who gained her 11th assist.

Nazareth had a power play opportunity in the second period, but Rose's goal came three seconds after the penalty expired as she knocked in a rebound of a shot by Stephanie Kubis. Sydney Swanson also assisted.

Di Cresce's goal came in similar fashion as she finished off a rebound of a shot from the point by Gabriella DeMeo. Ivey Lyden also had an assist.

Fallieras closed out the scoring with an unassisted tally early in the third period.
