PINE VALLEY, NY – A flurry of goals in the opening minutes of the Nazareth College women's hockey game against Elmira Saturday afternoon led to a 3-1 victory for the Soaring Eagles in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) game.
Nazareth (17-4-3 overall, 11-2-2 UCHC) opened the scoring just 1:09 into the contest on a goal by sophomore Hailey Redders with assists from fellow sophomores Abbey Luth and Jessica Kollberg.
Elmira (18-4-2, 13-2-0), ranked #5 in the latest USCHO.com national poll, answered with a pair of goals – one on the power play and one short-handed – in a span of less than two minutes to take the 2-1 lead.
