ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Nazareth swept a pair of non-conference men's volleyball matches on Saturday as the Golden Flyers defeated Elizabethtown in five sets (25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-10) then knocked off D'Youville in three sets (25-16, 25-22, 25-16). Senior

With the victories, Nazareth improves to 6-11 and have won their last three matches. Following their matches against the Golden Flyers, Elizabethtown fell to 9-7, and D'Youville fell to 1-11.
In its opening match of the day against the Blue Jays, the Golden Flyers extended the match to a fifth set thanks to 14 combined kills and only two errors from the trio of Dillon, Sargent, and Crosby. In the fifth set, Sargent led the teams with three kills while Dillon had two additional kills. In the opening set, Nazareth used a .522 hitting percentage behind seven digs and only one error from Dillon. Sargent, freshman

Sophomore
Jason Proud amassed a match-high 60 assists as the Golden Flyers' primary setter.  Dillon finished with a match-high 24 digs while Sargent and Crosby recorded  19 kills and 14 kills, respectively. Nazareth had three service aces in the decisive set with freshman

Defensively, senior
Luis Vazquez had a match-high 10 digs, followed by freshman
Seth Terzo with nine digs and Sargent with eight digs. Crosby amassed a team-high four assisted blocks to lead the Golden Flyers at the net. Dillon had a solo block and a pair of assisted blocks while Luton chipped in a pair of assisted blocks.
In the second match of the afternoon, Nazareth asserted its dominance in the opening set with a .429 hitting percentage on 12 kills and three assists. The Spartans, meanwhile, were held to -.083 as the Golden Flyers forced seven errors and allowed only five kills. The Golden Flyers used a balanced attack in the first set as five players tallied at least two kills, led by Sargent with three kills.
In the second set, Nazareth's hitting percentage slipped, but the Golden Flyers held on thanks to their four service aces and 15 digs to stymie the D'Youville attack. Proud recorded three Nazareth's aces, and Terzo recorded four of the Golden Flyers' digs. Allen, Proud, Sargent, and sophomore
Jonathon Jackson each assisted Nazareth's defense with multiple digs during the set.
In the third set, the Golden Flyers pulled away from a 16-14 edge with a 9-2 scoring run to close the match. In the closing set, Allen had five of his nine kills, Dillon recorded four of his six kills, and Crosby tallied three of his four kills.
