NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- Nazareth dropped a pair of men's volleyball matches Saturday to drop their overall record to 3-11. Nazareth lost in three sets to both host New Paltz and non-conference foe Arcadia. Nazareth lost to third-ranked New Paltz by scores of 25-14, 26-24, 25-23 and to Arcadia by scores of 25-15, 25-16, 34-32.
Combined with a Friday night loss to New York University, Nazareth is 0-2 in United Volleyball Conference matches. New Paltz improved to 9-2 overall, while Arcadia advanced to 8-5.
Nazareth got six kills each from
Sean Dillon and
Antonio Sargent in the opening match against New Paltz. Luis Vazquuez added 17 assists. The Golden Flyers posted a team hitting percentage of .097 (23-16-72), while New Paltz, the defending national champion, hit .195 (36-20-82).
Against Arcadia, Dillon had eight kills, Sargent seven and
Kaleb Luton six.
Jason Proud had 16 assist and Vazquez and 12 assists and four service aces.
Seth Terzo had 11 digs. Nazaeth hit .083 (32-24-96) as a team, while Arcadia hit .354 (37-8-82).
Nazareth plays again Wednesday in a non-conference match at Keuka at 7 p.m.
