BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Fourth-ranked New York University used a tidy .600 hitting percentage with just four attacking errors Friday to sweep visiting Nazareth in a United Volleyball Conference match. Scores were 25-20, 25-18, 25-19.
The Violets remained unbeaten at 8-0, while Nazareth dropped to 3-9 overall.
The Golden Flyers actually produced 35 kills to NYU's 34, but Nazareth was plagued by 22 service errors. NYU hit .643 (10-1-14) in the first set, .571 (13-1-21) in the second and .600 (11-2-15) in the third.
Joe Crosby and
Antonio Sargent each had nine kills for Nazareth and
Luis Vazquez had 29 assists.
Sean Dillon added eight kills and two service aces.
The Golden Flyers have two more road matches Saturday at New Paltz. They play the third-ranked Hawks at 12 p.m. and unranked Arcadia at 2.
