GENESEO, N.Y. -- Host Geneseo scored the game-winning goal with less than four minutes left in regulation play Wednesday as the Knights defeated Nazareth in a non-conference women's soccer match, 2-1.

The defeat snapped a three-game winning streak for the Golden Flyers, who dropped to 4-2 overall. Geneseo improved to 5-2 overall.

Geneseo had the better of the play most of the way, but the score was tied 1-1 thanks to a second-half goal by Nazareth's Ashley Plane, who netted her team-leading third goal of the season in the 59th minute. Plane took advantage of a poor clearing attempt by Geneseo goalkeeper Julia McDonald. Plane was able to intercept the clear and scored unassisted into an unoccupied goal.

The score went unchanged until the 87th minute when a long Geneseo service into the box was chipped over the head of Nazareth keeper Hannah Miller by Geneseo's Domenica Piccoli, who was credited with her fifth goal of the season.

Geneseo also scored in the first half after Nazareth's Noelle Colilli committed a foul in he penalty area in the 35th minute. Geneseo's Taylor Clar converted the subsequent penalty kick to give the Knights the lead.

Geneseo's statistical edges included a 16-6 advantage in shots and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks. Miller and McDonald each made three saves,
