ROCHESTER, NY – In the season opening race Friday night at St. John Fisher, junior Deirdre Brett raced to a 22nd place finish with a time of 16:36.6 to lead the Nazareth College women's cross country team to a fourth place team finish.
The Golden Flyers scored 121 points. Geneseo won the team competition with 28 points followed by RIT (33 points) and host St. John Fisher (93). The Golden Flyers finished ahead of Houghton (123), Rochester (135), Alfred State (246), Alfred (258), Elmira (260) and Corning CC (278) in the 4K race.
After Brett, freshman Megan Morin was next for Nazareth with a 25th place finish in 16:50.1 and Claire Bargabos also finished in the top-30 with a 28th place finish in 16:51.3. Sophomore Erin Reyner (16:55.3) was 30th overall and junior Hannah Hullihen (17:26.3) rounded out the scoring for Nazareth with a 41st place finish.
