Ethan Ross knocked out 10 kills and
Tyler Farnung amassed 30 assists Tuesday as host Nazareth made short work of Keuka in a non-conference men's volleyball match at the Kidera Gymnasium. Nazareth won by scores of 25-23, 25-11, 25-13.
The Golden Flyers improved to 6-3 overall while Keuka dropped to 2-3. The Golden Flyers open play in the United Volleyball Conference Friday when they visit Bard for a 7 p.m. match.
Ross' 10 kills came on 14 swings with no hitting errors for a productive .714 hitting percentage. He had five of his kills in the opening set as Nazareth held off a late charge by the Wolves to take the set.
Antonio Sargent added four of his five kills and
Zachary Gillard and
Sean Dillon each had three.
Ross and Gillard each had four kills in the second set and
Jordan Hildreth had four in the third.
Gillard finished with nine kills overall and four digs. Sargent added four service aces and Hildreth had seven digs.
Nazareth hit .423 as a team (40-10-71) with seven aces. The Golden Flyers limited Keuka to a .029 percentage (19-17-69).
