Updated stats
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Freshman Bailey Selman scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner with 3:32 left in the first overtime period Tuesday, to lift host Nazareth to a 3-2 field hockey victory over Oswego on the Golden Flyers' artificial turf field.

Nazareth improved to 6-8 overall with the non-conference victory, while Oswego dropped to 3-9 overall.

Selman's second goal, her ninth of the season, came after a mild scramble in front of the Oswego goal. She accepted a short pass from Lydia Dewart and wristed a shot past Oswego goalie Erica Scheblein to end the game.

Nazareth had leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but Oswego rallied to tie the score each time. Jennifer Hilts scored her team-leading 10th goal just before time expired in the first quarter. She accepted a through pass from Dewart and broke past the Oswego defense and tapped a shot into the cage.

Oswego tied the score early in the third quarter as Alyssa DeMichael scored unassisted. Selman's first goal came about five minutes later as Nazareth regained the lead. Oswego tied the score again with less than 10 minutes to play in regulation as Kathleen Little scored unassisted.

Nazareth had a 17-10 advantage in shots, but Oswego had a 9-6 edge in penalty corners. Amanda Chuttey had six saves for the Golden Flyers while Scheblein had eight for the Lakers.

Nazareth resumes its Empire 8 Conference schedule Saturday at home against Hartwick at 1 p.m. The Golden Flyers will honor its two seniors -- Hilts and Alexandra Livesey -- prior to the game. With four goals in her last three games, Hilts now ranks third all-time in points with 83 and fourth in goals with 33.
