ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Visiting Kean rallied from an early deficit to defeat Nazareth Saturday in a non-conference men's volleyball match. The fourth-ranked Cougars won in four sets by scores of 18-25, 29-27, 25-18, 25-17 to improve to 3-0.

The Cougars also won two matches Friday over Elmira and St. John Fisher, while the Golden Flyers were playing for the first time this season.

Sophomore Antonuio Sargent had 12 kills for the Golden Flyers, who posted solid hitting percentages in the first two sets before faltering in sets three and four. Tyler Farnung totaled 30 assists and Luis Vazquez had 16 digs.

The Golden Flyers started strong in dominating the opening set. They posted a .353 hitting percentage (9-3-17) as Zachary Gillard had four of his eight kills and Sargent delivered three more.

In the decisive second set, Nazareth trailed 23-21, but rallied to tie the set at 23 as freshman Jordan Hildreth had a kill and a block. A block by Sean Dillon gave Nazareth a 26-25 lead, but Kean rallied to take the set despite 13 kills from the Golden Flyers, including four each for Gillard and Sargent.

The Cougars dominated sets three and four with Jacob Milnazik getting four kills in the third set and Steven Zarzycki getting three more in the fourth.

Milnazik finished with 12 kills for the Cougars and Dylan Flor had 11. Ian Kapp combined 35 assists with six aces, eight digs and three kills.

Nazareth travels to Utica next weekend to compete in the SUNY Poly Tournament.
