CLINTON, N.Y. -- Freshmen
Hayley Cronin and
Claire Bargabos were the Golden Flyers' top finishers Saturday as the men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Hamilton Invitational.
The women's team finished in fourth place with 107 points. They trailed Hamilton (33), Ithaca (40) and LeMoyne (69) in the team standings.
Cronin finished in 13th place with a 4-kilometer time of 15:55.8, while Bargabos finished 19th in 16:10.1. Sophomore
Deirdre Brett was next in 24th place (16:22.6), followed by junior
Maria Staehr in 25th place (16:27.6) and sophomore
Lauren Guilfoil in 26th place (16:33.2). Senior Eikleen Shea (38th, 17:17.2) and freshman
Claire Kubinski (42nd place, 17:43.7) also competed.
In the men's 5k race, Nazareth had 145 points to trail Hamilton (48), Ithaca (53), Delhi (54) and Oneonta (125).
Freshman Josh Tomaka set the pace in 15th place (16:20.7). Senior
Andrew Gwynn was 25th (16:39.2), followed by sophomore Chris Celecki in 28th place (16:41.6), sophomore
Michael Brown in 35th place (16:54.7) and freshman
Jake Suddaby in 42nd place (17:19.7). Senior
Jack Wessel (43rd place, 17:25.1) nad freshman
Josh Pomerleau (45th place, 17:32.8) also competed.
