ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Visiting Denison scored the only goal of the game in the first half Saturday and went on to take a 1-0 women's soccer victory over Nazareth in non-conference action at Golden Flyer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Denison's Claire Kolff, a junior midfielder, scored the game's only goal in the 27th minute off a pass from Maggie Armstrong. Both teams threatened to score after that, but the result remained unaltered.
  • Nazareth's best chances came in the second half. Senior Mary LoCicero lofted a shot from the right side that was ticketed for the far corner in the second minute of the second half, but a foul was called on Mia Longo, who was attempting to get inside position on the Denison keeper.
  • Later in the half, with less than eight minutes left, freshman Mallory Ott generated a shot from the right side that was saved by Denison keeper Patil Tcholakian.
  • Junior Hannah Miller played well in goal for Nazareth and finished with 10 saves.
