ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Nazareth opened its 2018 women's soccer season in successful fashion Friday as the Golden Flyers scored twice in each half for a 4-0 win over Allegheny at Golden Flyer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Senior Mary LoCicero scored the first two goals -- at 12:45 and 28:21 of the first half -- as Nazareth dominated the early action. On the first goal, senior Mary Kate Ordway lofted a pass from near midfield and LoCicero settled it before kicking it past Allegheny keeper Maya Hackman. The second goal came off a free kick from just to the left of the box. Hackman was able to get her hands on LoCicero's shot before it deflected into the net.
  • Nazareth made it 3-0 early in the second half as sophomore Caleigh Cahoon one-touched a pass to senior Elizabeth Guidi, who relayed it to sophomore Kristen Prohaska, who knocked it into the goal.
  • Then in the 76th minute, freshman Mallory Ott delivered her first career goal off an assist from freshman Mia Longo.
  • Junior goalkeeper Hannah Miller and sophomore Bryanna Roos combined for the shutout. Miller had three saves.
