Rocester, NY – Nazareth saw 14 different goal scorers, including four players scoring their first-career goals, in a 25-4 thumping of Sage on Saturday.
Callahan Lyon,
Joslyn Doupe,
Brigid McGinley and
Regan McGwin all found the net for the first time. In addition,
Haley DeVona surpassed the 200-point mark (150 goals, 51 assists) after scoring three goals and adding three helpers.
The win was Nazareth's first in conference play (1-1) and moves its overall record to 5-4. Sage drops to 1-5 and 0-3, respectively.
Nazareth put up 17 goals in the opening half compared to just one for the Gators.
Brianna Rizzari made one save in net over the first 30 minutes before senior
Mackenzie Corbett came in to make two saves in the second.
The Golden Flyers hit the 10-goal mark with 16:24 left in the first half. McGinley, yet to record a collegiate point, finished the game with two goals and four assists.
Jessica Locey scored in the first half, marking her first goal since April 30, 2016 against Utica College.
Emily Allen also scored her first goal of the 2018 season.
Jordan Knapp and Lyon had a goal in each half for the hosts. McGwin came alive to score three goals to match
Tori Blazey.
Doupe,
Maeghan O'Brien, and
Bridget Collins were each credited with one goal and two assists.
Morgan Johnson found the net for the first time the season with two goals, to go along with a helper.
Jamie Martin (two goals) and
Addilys Geitner (1 G, 1 A) each recorded two points.
Nazareth returns to action on Thursday, traveling to Houghton for a 7 p.m. matchup.
